In terms of my homestay itself, I had the most wonderful family to stay with and I am still in contact with them today almost 7 years later! The language barrier was interesting to work through but with a mix of my Spanish skills and my family’s English skills we were always able to find a way to communicate (even if it meant a silly game of charades). I got to experience not only the excursions we went on through the program but also many exciting outings with my host family as well. This was truly one of the best things I have ever gotten to be a part of in my life.

How was your homestay experience with STEP? (ex: ease of planning with us/time spent in * Spain/ life after homestay)
I had such an amazing time, that I went back two more times. I had a wonderful family who took me in as their own. STEP was always there incase there was anything wrong or we just needed a little more support. The school was so welcoming and all the teachers there made us feel special and included. I still talk to all my friends over there and the girls I went over with. It truly was an amazing experience who shaped me into who I am today. It also taught me what career path I wanted.
