Host Family

Families in Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, and Indiana are able to host exchange students through our program.

Families across the Eastern United States are able to get the student exchange experience by hosting a student.

Students arrive in the US from Spain and are interested in taking interesting classes, meet new friends, but most importantly, getting to know a new community and culture.

We are looking for interested families hoping to gain from the culturally immerse experience that STEP has to offer and that has the capacity to take on a student. Families are supported by the international STEP program and are able to gain resources and training on the student prior to the experience.

Many families form life long friendships with students. It is a great experience for the children in the host family to broaden their horizons. Families are able to relate to people from multiple backgrounds and enjoy laughs along the way.

Our families often host students every year and even multiple times a year. In many ways these bonds are formed that are never broken, as many families end up visiting their students in Spain in the future.

What Our Happy Host Families Are Saying

We hosted in 2018 and had a great experience!! Ane quickly became part of the family. Whether we were out exploring the area, participating in fun activities, introducing her to American/local cuisine, or simply lounging at home; we had a good time!

We hosted our first student in 2011. We hosted again over the next two summers. We loved it so much, that we decided to then host a student for the full school year. One student turned into two students for each school year, which. now has turned into having a huge international family reunion this summer of 2022 in which all of our "kids" are coming back to celebrate! Sixteen of them have already purchased their plane ticket for their viit and some of them are even bringing their significant others. Hosting a student for the summer opened our doors, ignited our hearts, and grew our family forever!

We have forged life long friendships with multiple students. This has been a great experience for my children to broaden their horizon. In this day it is very importance that people can relate to people from different background and this program helps with that. In addition to all of those reasons, it was so much fun and we had so many laughs and fun!
